HYDRATE INHIBITORS

Coastal Chemical provides Low Dosage polymeric kinetic Hydrate Inhibitor control additives (LDHI) that act to retard gas hydrate formation in gas well flowlines and surface piping. Gas Hydrates are ice-like clathrate solids that are formed from water and small hydrocarbons at elevated pressures and at lower temperatures.

KINETIC (KHI) AND THERMODYNAMIC
HYDRATE INHIBITOR (THI)

These polymeric additives can function as both a Kinetic (KHI) and Thermodynamic Hydrate Inhibitor (THI). KHI materials are typically water-soluble polymers that delay gas hydrate nucleation and crystal growth.

THI materials such as methanol, function by altering the thermodynamic properties of the system fluids.

Our hydrate inhibitors will substantially lower overall product consumption when compared to methanol.
