Contaminant Removal Media

Molecular sieves are synthetic crystalline aluminosilicates with uniform pores that trap water molecules.

When a gas or liquid passes through a molecular sieve bed, the water molecules are adsorbed through a highly selective process. This allows water to be adsorbed, while larger molecules, such as hydrocarbons, pass through.

Molecular sieves can achieve dew points below -100°F, making them ideal for applications requiring extremely low moisture levels, where silica gel or activated alumina do not work.

Our line of products include:

  • Siliporite NK10
  • Siliporite, NK30
  • Siliporite NK10CL
  • Siliporite OPX-R Pellets
  • Siliporite G5
  • Siliporite EPX-38 Beads

Silica gel is a porous, granular form of silicon dioxide (SiO2). Its highly porous structure provides a large surface area that effectively adsorbs water vapor, making it ideal for moisture control in gases and liquids.

Water molecules adhere to the silica gel’s surface through physical adsorption and hydrogen bonding until the gel reaches capacity. Once saturated, silica gel can be heated to release trapped water and regenerated.

Our available Silica Gel product lines include:

  • Generic Silica Gel
  • BASF Silica Gel

Sorbead® is an amorphous, aluminosilicate gel. Produced by BASF, it uses a unique oildrop process to create its unique pore structure. Sorbead® has high crush strength and low attrition, and its material pore structure allows for the removal of both water and heavy hydrocarbons.

Benefits of Sorbead® Adsorption Technology:

  • High turn-down rates
  • Rapid start-up
